The engine

Just write the text — an AI agent turns it into a novella

And when you want to, you take the whole thing over and make exactly what you had in mind.

Two ways in

Easier

You just write

The agent builds a working story out of what you wrote. You never see the language.

  • Any agent connects — Claude, Cursor, Gemini
  • You fix things in plain words
  • A first story in an evening

Deeper

You take it over

You open the story itself — the code and the graph — and set every detail.

  • Conditions, variables, randomness, Lua
  • Your own theme: type, colour, dialogue window
  • The preview is the real app

What it does

The Nyx language

Scenes, lines, choices. One line, one command.

The graph

Branches, breaks, endings. The whole story at once.

Mechanics

Inventory, relationships, timers, light, sound. 98 commands, and counting.

Checks

Dead ends, endings nobody reaches, files gone missing.

AI agent

Your agent works inside the project: writes, checks, publishes. How to connect

Import

A story from another editor — whole, branches and variables with it.

How it goes

  1. You write

On your own or with the agent.

  2. The engine checks

On every build, by itself: connectivity, endings, files, music rights.

  3. You publish

The story appears in the catalogue. Updates ship as versions, and nobody loses their place.

Common questions

Do I need to know how to code?

No. A story is text, and a choice is a line that starts with an asterisk. The rest is optional: conditions, variables, randomness.

What if I would rather not deal with AI?

Then don't. The agent is one way in; the studio does all of it by hand.

Where does my story live?

In the cloud. In the desktop app it is also an ordinary folder on your disk, yours to do anything with.

Can I take it back out?

Yes, as one file. Scenes, images, sound.

Is there anything paid?

Writing and reading are free, and will stay that way. Money shows up in separate things — the store, subscriptions to authors. Both are on the roadmap.

Your first fork takes an evening.
